registration for the podcast & new media expo being held on sept. 28 thru 30 in ontario, california opened this week. can't seem to find any details on who the keynote speakers will be but last year the speakers were leo laporte and ronald d. moore, executive producer of battlestar galactica. i actually didn't know that ronald d. moore records a regular podcast that is a running commentary of a particular episode until i heard him talking about it during his keynote. i've been a regular subscriber to that podcast ever since. anyways, i've registered to attend this year and hopefully something doesn't come up that will conflict with the show dates and i'll get to attend the keynotes again.
About the Show from the site...
"The 3rd Annual Podcast & New Media Expo is a "prosumer" and corporate event that brings together influential audio and video podcasters, digital media creators, and content developers to cover the complete range of creation techniques, business objectives and future trends.
User-created content is changing the business landscape of media. The Expo focuses on educating individuals and companies about how to produce high quality digital content, grow a loyal audience, and market or monetize that content in creative ways.
The Expo is also a major networking event where content creators can share ideas and build partnerships."
if john c. dvorak knew me he would call me a joiner just as he calls leo one and frankly he'd be right, at least in my case. i saw merlin tweet about it, heard leo and the gang talk about it on one of the podcasts and i was fighting the good fight in subduing the urge to join but alas after seeing that a few fellow vox'ers (leo, oski, phoneboy to name a few) were going to try it out i succumbed and joined. leo probably put it best in his post..."But sometimes they're really worth signing up for, and how do you know until you do?"
i've mentioned this on my post on the QotD on podcasts...one of the video podcasts i regularly watch is dl.tv and since they were taping while at CES i had to try and make it over to watch a live taping of the show. was finally able to get over to the sands...no small feet because the traffic was horrible in vegas...and was on hand to watch the taping of episode 130. it was great getting to watch the gang in action as they prepped and taped the show. patrick and robert were joined by roger and jim on this episode since they had so many products to cover which included the r2d2 projector and the plen robot.
kind of related to an earlier post about regular phrases commonly used by your favorite podcast host...are there any drinking games associated with your favorite podcasts? (remember...if you aren't of legal age to drink alcohol substitute with an appropriate beverage). i've found two...one for diggnation and another for TWiT. patrick of dl.tv refers to one that appears to be tied to him straightening his notes but i haven't been able to find the details regarding the dl.tv drinking game. if you have info the the dl.tv drinking game or any other podcast related drinking games leave a comment.
diggnation...diggdrinking
TWiT drinking game...found in comments section of this digg post
