having lost a memory card on a trip several years ago when i heard about the site found cameras and orphan pictures on revision3's tekzilla #24 i thought this was a great idea. getting your lost camera and/or memory card back would be an added bonus but i'm sure most of use would be happy just to be able to get the images back for sentimental reasons alone. as the header on the site says...
the more people that know about this site increases the chances of lost pictures getting home which is why i decided to write up a post about it. at the very minimum, i know what i'm going to do in case i ever come across a lost camera and/or memory card.Tell your friends about this site and let's all try to return some of these lost pictures home.
now i just wish the site had a decent logo and perhaps stickers they could sell to be placed on your own camera and/or memory cards.
i wasn't completely unfa miliar with FFFFOUND.com because some people i follow on tumblr had tumblogged images from FFFFOUND! before but i was recently enlightend thanks to a podcast i started watching. i recently subscribed to a new show with patrick norton and jessica corbin on revison3 called tekzilla and here's what jessica had to say about FFFFOUND...
"Code Red is where Jessica tells you about her latest obsession... this week it's FFFFOUND!.com, a neat little place on the Internet where you can post and share your favorite images. The service also has the ability to recommend images it thinks you'll like based on your interests. This isn't another Flickr clone. The makers call it "an inspirational image-bookmarking experience!!" Jessica agrees."
FFFFOUND! is in private beta but i was able to snag an invite thanks to invitetrader.net (although the site seems to be down as i write this). i've just started using the site and there are definitely some interesting images available on the service. the recommended images is a nice feature.
